Escrow & Payments
Escrow & Payments
This page explains how money moves on AssetShift: when buyers are charged, when sellers are paid, and how disputes and refunds are handled.
Payment methods
- Major credit and debit cards through our payment provider.
- Additional methods (e.g. bank transfers) may be offered on a program basis.
- All payments are processed securely; card data is not stored by AssetShift.
When buyers are charged
- Buyers see a full breakdown in the escrow checkout flow.
- Cards are charged once the buyer confirms totals and submits payment.
- No pickup or transport is scheduled until payment succeeds.
- After payment, you choose one of two logistics paths:
- Path A: customer-arranged pickup
- Path B: AssetShift-arranged transportation
When sellers are paid
- Funds are held in escrow while the order is prepared and shipped.
- Once delivery is confirmed or the dispute window passes without an issue, payouts are released to the seller's payout method.
- Processing times depend on banks and payment networks.
Refunds, disputes & chargebacks
- If goods arrive materially different from the listing, buyers should open a dispute from the order page as soon as possible.
- AssetShift reviews evidence from both sides and may adjust, reverse, or partially refund payouts based on our policies.
- Chargebacks initiated with the bank are handled under the payment provider's rules and may extend timelines.
